We are so lucky being right on the border of Staffordshire, Shropshire and the West Midlands. There are so many fantastic, local wedding venues so it is always a joy to photograph a wedding at Pendrell Hall. This week I was there for Felicity and Peter’s wedding.
I first photographed?Felicity and Peter?at Stafford castle when we did their pre-wedding shoot. I think it is?fair to say they were both extremely nervous?during our time there. It is understandable as most peoples experience of having their photograph taken is a friend shoving a camera in your face and being ordered to smile. Nothing could be further than how a professional shoot is carried out. Even through the nerves we captured some great images that day. Both Felicity and Peter have told me they found the shoot very useful in their preparations. They were?able to relax much more at?their wedding at Pendrell Hall, knowing how easy it would be to capture some stunning photographs of them both.
Felicity and her bridesmaids were in fine form of the morning of the wedding, laughing and joking, they were all very relaxed. Peter on the other hand was clearly nervous but managed his role of greeting the guests like a professional. The ceremony was held at Pendrell Hall, I really do like the room they use there with its big bay windows letting in loads of great light.
As soon as the ceremony was over Peter was able to relax. I took them both away for a short while to create some really lovely portraits for them both (expertly helped by Hannah one of the bridesmaids). It is really great to photograph a wedding at Pendrel Hall as there are so many great locations and I even found a new one hidden in the grounds!
As important as the portraits and group photos are, I do love getting in amongst the guests. Capturing all of the natural photographs of the couple, their families and guests as they relax and enjoy the wedding. This is what makes me happy, documenting the day and giving the Bride and Groom a story of their day.
The day seemed to fly by, soon the wedding breakfast and speeches were behind us. It was on to the dancing (and drinking). Felicity and her bridesmaids were never far from the dance floor. I did manage to grab Peter and Felicity one more time for a couple of evening portraits which I turned out really well.
I said it on the evening but I will say it again… Felicity and Peter, thank you so much for inviting me to photograph your wedding at Pendrell Hall. I really enjoyed myself and I think you will be really happy with your photographs.
