Friday saw me back at one of my favourite venues for a Somerford Hall wedding. This time for Beth & Gordon’s wedding.
Beth and Gordon live in Scotland so other than a brief skype meeting, I had not met them before but as soon as I was with them, it was like we were friends already. The mornings preparations with Beth went brilliantly, she was very smiley all morning and pretty relaxed given that she was to be married in a few hours. She was getting ready with her bridesmaids, family and one of the most photogenic flower girls I have met this year.
The ceremony was held at the enchanting St. Chad’s church in Pattingham, just a short drive from Beth’s family home and once again we were treated to some glorious sunshine. Their St. Chad’s Church wedding ceremony was fabulous and afterwards we had enough time to capture some great photographs as all of Beth & Gordon’s guests congratulated them outside the church. We then departed (after the confetti throwing) to Somerford Hall which is always a stunning backdrop for their portraits. As the wedding was held at 3pm, we had just enough time to get the family formal photographs before retiring to the ball room for their Somerford Hall wedding reception in anticipation of the speeches and wedding breakfast. The speeches were filled with laughter and many “head in hands” moments as the best man lovingly berated the groom.
No sooner was the wedding breakfast over and the guests congregated in the drawing room for the cutting of the cake and to watch my slideshow of all of the moments from the wedding up to that point. Soon it was time for the first dance and afterwards, Beth and Gordon led the guests in some ceilidh dancing which soon progressed from beginners to advanced, there were legs, arms and feet flying everywhere!
Congratulations Beth & Gordon and thank you for making me feel so welcome on your special day as your Somerford Hall wedding photographer.
