Alrewas Hayes wedding photos – Claire & Ben

Saturday saw me at the wonderful Alrewas Hayes again, This time to photograph Claire & Ben’s country fate themed wedding. Given how wet most of the weekends have been since the start of wedding season I was really happy to see the sun out on my way to Claire’s parents house where the girls were getting ready. The preparations went smoothly and Claire was very eager to get to Alrewas Hayes as quickly as possible so she and her bridesmaids could relax a little.

Once at the wedding venue the girls did indeed relax and were able to enjoy the fabulous surroundings while they made the finishing touches to their hair and makeup and get dressed ready for the venue. Ben was also at the venue enjoying a pre-wedding drink with his entourage. They laughed and joked but as the ceremony drew closer you could see some signs of nerves creeping in.

The rain held off just long enough for the Bride and Bridesmaids to walk around to the ceremony room but once inside they were oblivious to the rain as they all revelled in the marriage ceremony itself. Once Claire and Ben were married they almost sprinted down the isle, catching me a little by surprise as I tried to run backwards up some stairs while photographing them was they ‘walked’ down the isle. Again we managed to dodge the showers as we completed the few group photographs and their portraits, finishing in time for Clair and Ben to spend some time with their guests before the wedding breakfast.

Once the breakfast was concluded, we saw three very nervous men stand and deliver heart warming speeches and a very surprised Bride as she too was encouraged to give an impromptu speech and then it was time for the partying to begin. I started things off with the slideshow of the days photographs and soon after the casino kicked into gear and remained standing room only for the rest of the night. I can’t let this blog post pass by without a mention to the amazing cake created by Choccywoccydoodah. I have seen many great cakes in my time as a photographer but you can really see why this company have their own TV show (image below)

The night drifted by with copious amounts of dancing and we even found another break in the weather to venture out to capture those all important evening portraits.

Once again I have been treated to a fantastic wedding with some wonderful people. Claire and Ben are a great match, I wish them all the very best.
